You're allowed to say that (have you ever seen the Mac vs PC ads). They are targeting GDocs here, not YouTube or their search (or anything else). Have you used GDocs? It is simply shocking. The ONLY? good feature is the seamless syncing, but Office Apps provide something very similar anyway. This is a corny video to prove a very good point, only a fanboy could say GDocs is better than Office.

I found this video a bit underwhelming, to be honest. Some of the ideas are cool, like the kitchen wall and the recipe thing, but most of the other things in this just felt like futuristic fluff. I don't need to be shown graphs and schematics to make it feel like the future. I'd enjoy seeing more things that would be useful for? daily use with regular people. Just to jump in on the Mac V MS fight.. Apple are? Genius at putting the building blocks together in a very smart looking and "future looking" product that everyone will want but they don't make the building blocks..they charge you 50% more than everyone else cos they made it look pretty, their RD is a tiny and only for stuff they sell to end user.. MS are like IBM, NASA, Fujitsu, Canon, VolksAudiGroup, SUN, Intel etc.. they make global changing research and share it.

You're still missing the point. Microsoft is WAY MORE innovative than apple. The difference is that apple will spend money only on things that it can sell to the end user. On the other hand, msft has hundreds of projects that get little press time. That's why msft is one? of the largest players at Siggraph, and apple is nowhere to be seen in such innovation conferences. Just look at Surface, kinect, barrelfish, photosynth, flickr streetview, singularity, C#, voice-voice translation, etc, etc.

Lmao pointing out these stats would only make msft look worse.? Spending so much on R&D but still behind someone who spend 5X less. And saying Apple is good at buying established technologies to use as there own, thats a normal thing in the tech or business world. Who doesnt do that, but at least apple did it successfully, unlike microsoft's failed attempt to purchase Yahoo. Paying high above market price to get the crappy Yahoo company and they rejected it. How worse can an acquisition be?

3D led is not clear enough? making the screen transparent is? not going to be cost effective as compared to further researching on the LED technology and improve it to make it more clear and cheaper. In example, from the LED technology that was already available, pay some more research and apple got the AMOLED, then from that pay a little more and get Super AMOLED. Why not pay a little more and get Ultra AMOLED, instead of researching on this transparent crap that will be sold for a few thousands

Problem with 3D interfaces is while they look awesome, they are normally? much slower to use than a traditional mouse/menus. Most of the content you are accessing on a computer is 2D (Mostly text/images/video). Maybe they would be useful for interacting with 3D objects but even then 3D is often easier because it's easier to be more accurate in 2D (organic 3d sculpting might be better). Your hands would get tired fairly quickly too.
