Ok. So you can't get your work published? Have you been to different Universities? They're usually helpful and open minded, publishers may not be. Also, the reason ideas like the photon and dark matter are here is because they explain experimental data without contradicting the rest of physics (Superstrings are purely theoretical). Basically this proves the theory, that if you are running a test, and by observing, you for sure - 100% know what WILL be the result, you limit the possabilities that COULD happen. "Free energy" devices and other devices like the Hubbard coil device seem very promising. But no free energy device to date has been confirmed to work. Grebennikov did not provide experimental evidence for his experiment. Nor did he reproduce his results to be peer reviewed. Also, the quantum mechanical description of nature is the most consistent with experimental data. I do understand the interest in these devices, but I also believe if we don't rely on evidence, we're no? longer doing science.

Also, the existence of Ether (background cosmic medium in the universe) has been experimentally tested many times throughout the years with negative results. Watching the plane next to you is the opposite of dangerous, to fly formation its more safe to watch the other aircraft than in front of you because if you stop looking at that aircraft, you dont know where it is and youre at huge risk for midair collision. This is true. I was a passenger on a train with maybe 10 passengers in my carriage. A lady in a wheelchair using a metal ramp to board the train went over its? edge and the wheelchair tipped over and she came out. However when he noticed how the two other individuals didn't respond he went back to what he was doing before. I don't find this especially philosophical, even "experimentally". Whatever consequences of a choice are known by the choice-maker will be part of the choice-maker's intentions. It's obvious how silly this is when you reverse the experiment. Imagine the corporate executive trying to weasel out of punishment for damaging the environment by saying, "Well even though I knew this would? be a direct consequence of my choice It was not my intention to poison the water table/pollute the air".

The reasons everybody took interest in canard configs again in WW2, is you can move the weight, engine backwards and? get the nose free for concentrated armament. They also hoped the reduced fuselage would mean gains through lower structural weight and less wet drag. In practice it doesn't work. But they had no computers so they had to try. The canard has more drag and results in less performance. Reason is the foreplane needs to be highly loaded for stability and cause too much parasite drag.

General Motors recruited engineer and race car driver, Zora Arkus Duntov, to help them inject some performance into their brands. Duntov wanted to make the Corvette competitive with sports cars from Europe like Ferrari and Maserati. To gain respect it needed to win on the track. He organized a team to build the SS or "Experimental Corvette" and took it to Sebring.

Norm: Thanks for the inside "look." The car had a problem with rear suspension bushings and that's why it failed in the race (along with brake problems). With Fangio at the wheel of the "mule" -- the first car built -- he was down record lap times at Sebring. This car had gobs of potential. Just that GM cancelled the program due to the AMA anti-racing agreement signed in 1957. GM had the best designers and engineers in the world then. What has happened to them??

I did recognize several studio heads and high level Styling people including my boss, Bob McLean. Larry Shinoda was there also, but it was too hard to follow who was responsible for what. Norm?

It needed a top to qualify so they asked our (Research) studio to clay up a blister. We? did that but producibility said they couldn't make it in one piece; so I worked up the cross-over trim piece to hide the split. The plaster shop took casts and sent them to make the blisters. When they arrived I saw it in the crate, upside down . It took an instant to recognize they made it in one piece after all. It took another instant to see two holes cut through the blister to hold my trim crosspiece!

What a tragedy, can you imagine where engineers like Duntov, Ed cole, Pete Brock and designed Bill Mitchell could have taken GM without that politically correct racing ban? GM would have been a forward looking technology leader, not a producer of the boring clunkers they produced from the early seventies on, I hope they have learned their? lesson?

I agree that "Europe" is an artifical? construct much like the idea of any region. It's a handy way to refer to a geographical region that also shares a common history. But it also has some political legitimacy beyond its semantic usefulness. There is a European Union and a common currency, the Euro, which replaced the Lira in Italy. In any event, you are right that Maserati and Lamborghini were developed in Italy. Although, Lamborghini is now owned by a German company, Volkswagen.

huh? I'm sure the people who built? the car were skilled trades UAW members at the GM Tech Center. These are the people who build the concept cars, the special editions and do what's called the "Pilot" build on the cars which is where they build a few hundred vehicles as the engineers and the workers try to figure out the build sequence and discover any issues before the cars are mass assembled at the plants. These are really elite members of the GM team.
