Vairagya or Vairag is detachment that is achieved? when one is over with his fascination or dependence on desires, aspirations, hopes and emotions and is eternally peaceful. I used achieve because one can not detach from aspirations or desires by renouncing or quitting them, it is achieved with spiritual growth. PS - Detachment is not from aspirations, it is from the dependence for happiness/peace on aspirations.

Vairagya is different from Sanyas. Sanyas is taken. Vairagya is achieved. Sanyas liya jata hai (decidingly or deliberately) aur Vairagya ho? jata hai (naturally with spiritual advancement).
